JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Social Media Coordinator

Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer, CEO

Job Summary: The Amelia Island Convention & Visitors Bureau is seeking a Social Media Coordinator with at least three to five years’ experience with social and digital media, tourism marketing and/or travel industry experience. The ideal candidate will be familiar with all relevant social networks, measurement tools, local and national online communities, and demonstrate their ability to manage the destination’s extensive digital networks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute the destination’s brand social strategy including creating, curating and publishing relevant content to owned social media channels
  • Create, implement and measure content & social media strategies to increase brand awareness, inbound traffic and overall engagement
  • Develop and manage content calendar for strategic, consistent posting across all channels including social media as well as owned digital channels such as website and email
  • Consistently create high quality content including copy writing, photography and videography assets and distribute across social and all owned channels to ensure ROI
  • Perform day-to-day management and monitoring of online conversations; proactively engage in conversations and respond to user comments and questions in a timely manner
  • Contribute to the blog on a monthly basis
  • Curate user generated content that fits the brand and obtain usage rights and approvals
  • Attend local events to create and curate social content that focus on the destination’s tourism products and visitor experiences
  • Track key metrics to illustrate performance and ROI including reach, engagement, and brand sentiment
  • Develop relationships with tourism partners and entities to generate relevant social media content and create social media partnerships
  • Assist in organizing a brand influencer program and paid social media plan
  • Execute partnerships and manage online relationships with regional, state and national organizations, including but not limited to the tourism industry
  • Maintain digital asset management library
  • Work with internal dashboard and various agencies to ensure social media, website, blogs, emails, media campaigns, and content calendars are synced
  • Perform ongoing digital audits to ensure messaging aligns with brand standards, leverage best practices, are consistent with proper use of “brand voice” and meet all brand style guidelines
  • Support crisis communication efforts as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Education – College degree in marketing, communications, or related field
  • Experience - 3+ years of related experience in broad marketing, branding or communications; social media management or digital marketing; or related fields required
  • Skills –
    • Highly organized and motivated; performs well under pressure and is a strong team player
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet multiple deadlines; requires excellent project management, organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills as well as strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent creative writing and photo/video editing skills, as well as a unique ability to communicate to multiple audiences in a variety of platforms
    • Experience in tracking reports and analyzing key metrics such as engagement and sentiment through social platforms as well as Google Analytics
    • Strong knowledge of all social media platforms, online communications strategies and tactics, influencer communities, usability standards, branding and latest digital technologies, tools and best practices
    • Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or other design platforms as well as photo and video editing preferred.
    • Ability to be flexible, working in a changing environment
    • Strategic problem solving and ability to proactively identify challenges and find creative solutions
    • Travel, hospitality or luxury experience preferable

Nassau County - Digital Strategy Director

Position: Digital Strategy Director

Overview: Ensure that Amelia Island uses best-in-class digital strategies to maintain excellent performance as a tourism destination that contributes to the overall economic impact for Nassau County. Utilize owned and paid digital channels to increase the overall yield of visitors while minimizing the visitors’ environmental and cultural footprint to our local community.

Job Summary: The Amelia Island Convention & Visitors Bureau is seeking a director of digital strategy with at least five years’ experience in digital media, tourism marketing and/or travel industry experience. The ideal candidate will manage the destination’s extensive digital networks and be responsible for creation, development, and implementation of digital strategies. Included in the position is management of paid and owned digital channels. Excellent communications skills are essential in providing direction to contracted agencies and coworkers supporting the mission. Responsible for best practices on websites, efficient interactive advertising, and event promotions through social and paid media communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, implement and measure digital marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, inbound traffic and overall engagement
  • Manage all technical aspects of the destination’s web sites including design, functionality, SEO, and content
  • Maintain website CMSs, ensuring content is consistent with the destination’s brand
  • Manage other digital efforts including the development and implementation of digital marketing and interactive programs including database marketing, email, blogging, digital advertising and emerging technologies
  • Plan, execute and evaluate the paid digital media strategy as a component to the destination’s overall marketing strategies
  • Analyze research and data of digital channels; make recommendations to assist senior management in making decisions regarding future marketing strategies
  • Work closely with the social media coordinator on creation, implementation and distribution of content and editorial calendars across digital channels
  • Provide recommendations on how to merge technology with marketing goals, objectives, plans and strategies
  • Oversee the vendor relationships and contract executions for digital centric programs
  • Research, evaluate and implement programs to attract users to the web site including management of cooperative partnerships
  • Assist with the creation of high-quality content including copy writing, photography and videography assets and distribute across digital channels to ensure ROI
  • Track key metrics to illustrate performance and ROI including reach, engagement, and brand sentiment
  • Remain up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends, including scripting, security and compliance issues, e-commerce, authoring and graphic design tools
  • Execute partnerships and relationships with regional, state and national organizations, including but not limited to the tourism industry, as well as tourism partners and media publishers
  • Work with internal dashboard and various agencies to ensure all digital strategies, website, blogs, emails, media campaigns, and content calendars are synced

  • Compensation - Commensurate with experience. Bonus potential. Two weeks annual personal days off effective six months after day of permanent hire (No cash value).

Brevard County - Tourism Marketing Manager

The Brevard County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a Tourism Marketing Manager.

THIS POSITION IS APPOINTIVE SERVICE.
$2,369.63 to $2,606.59 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Cocoa. Performs experienced professional work organizing, coordinating, and monitoring cross-departmental initiatives to achieve project and program goals. Oversees planning, budgeting, and execution of all advertising (both creative development and media buying), digital marketing, public relations, and travel industry relations activities.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Hospitality, or a closely related field PLUS three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, advertising, or tourism development in a medium to large organization, including two (2) years in a responsible supervisory capacity. Master’s degree is preferred. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
