On July 27th, Robert Skrob hosted a call for you, to update you and get your feedback on several key issues facing DMO's.

Chris Thompson from VISIT FLORIDA participated in the call and answered questions from TDCs/CVBs throughout Florida. The following was discussed:

Request for additional tourism marketing funding from BP
Tourist Development Taxes on business loss payments to hotels
Immigration reform in Florida and it's impact on the tourism industry
Tourist Development Tax holiday currently being offered as a way for the lodging industry to "get back on it's feet."
Federal legislation that would provide Federal tourism marketing grants to local CVBs
Early indications of how the Kenneth Feinberg, appointed to oversee the governments $20 billion compensation fund, is defining eligibility
